Korsnäs Frövi - Cartonboard for Creative Packaging Solutions

Korsnäs Frövi produces roll or sheet form cartonboard in four different grades for different applications. FRÖVI BRIGHT is used for premium and sensitive products, FRÖVI LIGHT for frozen and chilled products, FRÖVI CARRY for multipacks and other heavier packaging and FRÖVI LIQUID for milk, juices, wine, water, yoghurt, sauces, etc.

Our cartonboard consists of four layers. The top layer is made of bleached hard and softwood fibres and has a coating applied that gives an excellent white surface for printing. The three lower levels are made up of unbleached pulp (except for FRÖVI BRIGHT which has a bottom layer of bleached pulp for a white reverse side).

FRÖVI BRIGHT CARTONBOARD FOR LUXURY PACKAGING

FRÖVI BRIGHT is a new type of cartonboard based on fibres from Swedish forests. Thanks to its high strength you can use less material when designing packaging which reduces cost, weight and waste. Also, any substances that could influence taste and smell are checked and controlled during the production process meaning that it will not affect its contents in any way.

The outer surface of FRÖVI BRIGHT is white and smooth. It can be decorated sensitively using advanced offset printing. The inner white is there mainly to create a white, clean background that makes your product stand out although it can be printed upon as well.

FRÖVI LIGHT FOR FROZEN AND CHILLED FOOD PACKAGING

FRÖVI LIGHT is a unique packaging material because it offers unique strength based on fibres from Swedish forests. You can benefit from this in three ways:

• By reducing the basis weight of your packaging
• By minimising or eliminating transport packaging
• By retaining packaging shape throughout the entire chain (even without protective transport packaging)

In addition to its moisture resistance, FRÖVI LIGHT is designed for direct contact with foodstuffs; substances that could affect taste or smell are checked and controlled effectively during the production process.

FRÖVI CARRY FOR MULTIPACKS AND HEAVY CARRYING

FRÖVI CARRY's unique tearing strength allows strong consumer-friendly handles to be integrated into the packaging without the risk of the material tearing. Its inherent tearing strength also reduces the amount of cartonboard required meaning less waste, weight and cost, whilst at the same time allowing slender designs.

The excellent white printing surface of FRÖVI CARRY is thanks to the high quality of the coating and the next uppermost level being bleached pulp. Moisture resistance means that FRÖVI CARRY offers stability even in humid conditions.

FRÖVI LIQUID CARTONBOARD FOR LIQUID FOOD PACKAGING

FRÖVI LIQUID provides a solid base for carrying the image of your product; it has excellent printing characteristics regardless of the printing method. Its outstanding strength also allows it to be used in versatile and innovative ways.

The base used to make FRÖVI LIQUID is unbleached pulp which gives unbeatable strength and stiffness. For the top layer we use a bleached pulp to give a white surface for printing. In our own TCF bleach plant we bleach the pulp without the use of chlorine.
