Goring Kerr EZx Product Promotion - "UK Wheels Campaign"

11 August 2006

Following the interest shown in the Goring Kerr EZx at the PPMA Show in September, the UK sales team organised a road show to demonstrate the machine at customer sites. Andy Hill, UK Sales Manager explained the reasons behind the campaign,

"There is no escaping the fact that the best way to sell our products is to get in front of the decision maker. However, in this day and age, time is precious and very few can afford to take time to come and see what we have to offer them. So my thoughts were, 'if the customers will not come to us, then we will go to them' and hence the idea of a roadshow was born! We targeted key prospects and offered them the opportunity to see the EZx at first hand, on their site, working with their products, at no cost to them. Not only did this give us the opportunity to meet those important decision makers, but it also gave us the chance to speak with the people that operate and maintain our equipment. This enabled us to get them to 'buy in' to the EZx early in the sales process. All in all, I believe the exercise has been a success and one we will repeat again in 2006".

So, a van was hired and the EZx was literally driven around the country to customer sites! Customers visited included:

Freshpack, Stoke - Pies & Sausage Rolls
Kensey Foods, Launceston - Sponge / Desserts
Hitchen Foods, Wigan - Ready Meals
Kettle Produce, Bo-Ness, Vegetable Products
Apetito Foods, Trowbridge - Ready Meals
Warburtons, Bolton - Bakery / morning goods (croissants, scones, crumpets)
Alpha Flight, Manchester - Airline Food
Isleport Foods, Highbridge - Sponge / Desserts
Good Food Company, Northampton - Pies
Matthews Foods, Wakefield - Butter & Spreads
Magna Foods, Telford - Confectionery
Pork Farms, Trowbridge - Snack Foods
Goswells, London - Bakery / morning goods
Unique Foods, Annan - Fish

John Stokes, Contaminant Detection Applications Manager, who became our 'Van Man' for the duration of the roadshow and performed the demonstration with the Sales Engineers commented on the success of the Roadshow;

"The main benefit for customers was to see the EZx operating in their environment rather than in a demo room or at a trade show. The EZx was very well received by customers who found the system's design uncomplicated and easy to use. From our own perspective, it was good to see that even after 2,000 miles on the road, the EZx functioned every time without any problems. It could be taken out of the van and set up on site in 35 minutes!"
