Thermo's Process Analytics Solutions Help Manufacturers Improve Plant Efficiency and Quality

FRANKFURT, Germany (May 15, 2006) - Thermo Electron Corporation is launching its process analytics initiative to the European chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries on the Thermo stand (Hall B1, Stand 105/204) at ACHEMA 2006, in Frankfurt, Germany, 15-19 May. A cornerstone of Thermo's "Lab-to-the-Line" initiative is its comprehensive range of online process analyzers utilizing mass spectrometry, pulsed UV florescence (PUVF), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), and non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technologies. A mainstay of the range, the VG Prima δB is a fast and highly stable scanning magnetic sector mass spectrometer for the precise determination of gas composition within petrochemical, pharmaceutical and steel applications.
Thermo's latest environmental mass spectrometer, the VG Sentinel δB, monitors the majority of VOCs used in industry at ppb levels. The highly stable and precise measurements are integral to effective plant alarm systems, chemical leak detection or regulatory controls.
The InterceptIR™ uses Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy to offer research grade performance, speed and sensitivity for trace gas analysis in demanding process environments.
Used principally within the oil and gas, petrochemical and chemical industries, the SOLA II sulfur online analyzer rapidly determines total sulfur content of liquid and gas phase samples through the use of a low maintenance pulsed UV florescence detector and Pyrolysis system. Using non-dispersive infrared technology (NDIR), the AutoCO2® measures carbon dioxide concentrations in natural gas to maintain gas quality control at delivery points.
