Lachenmeier Power Flex Stretch Hood Machine Packs Fragile Goods, Leading to Massive Savings

The live demonstration will show how a Euro pallet with Coca-Cola cans should be handled to ensure maximum safety before it is transported to consumers. The Power Flex includes the most recent technological advances in cost-effective, flexible and reliable film wrapping within the FMCG industry. Its efficiency is impressive: with a speed of more than 170 pallets an hour, Power Flex replaces two, sometimes three, traditional stretch wrappers in the packing hall.
STRETCH HOOD PROTECTS GOODS
Stretch hoods are perfect for protecting fragile packaging, including food and beverage industry packs, cardboard cartons and bottles. Power Flex handles goods on the pallets gently, and the strong film protects goods during transport. After the film is applied, goods on the pallet are protected from water and dust, making it possible to store the goods outdoors. The goods arrive in perfect condition, and remain tempting to consumers.
HOW POWER FLEX WORKS
The Power Flex stretch hood packing machine places a strong, transparent plastic film around the goods. Cardboard cartons, plastic bottles and aluminium cans, for instance, do not get pushed or pressed.
The plastic film is expanded by four strong arms that place the film around the pallet. As the arms glide downward, they release the film. The film tightens around the goods and pallet, transforming them into one stable unit. Power Flex ensures optimum load-stability, even when it comes to the most pliable and unstable types of goods.
BRANDING OF WHOLE PALLET LOADS
Great resources are used for branding products. With stretch hood, pallet loads are wrapped with only one layer of completely transparent film, making stylishly-designed goods visible. You can also immediately identify a load with a barcode reader.
SAVINGS AND BENEFITS
Power Flex is two or three times faster than traditional stretch wrappers. This means you need fewer machines for the same throughput, which saves space in the packing hall. Power Flex wraps more than 170 pallets per hour, and can run for 15 hours per film roll. Power Flex also reduces costs compared to traditional stretch wrapping because Lachenmeier's stretch hood uses thinner – and thereby cheaper – film, and simultaneously preserves load stability. For instance, the spiral stretch process requires several layers of film in order to achieve the same stability.
Stretch hood also performs favourably when compared to shrink wrapping, because stretch hood does not require heat.
