Mondi Consumer Flexibles is an innovative supplier of active and convenient packaging for the pet food, food and non-food, confectionary and snacks as well as medical and pharmaceutical industries. These solutions comprise high quality polyethylene-coated and laminated papers, industrial packaging, agricultural and barrier films, stand-up pouches and plastic bags.

We provide flexible packaging solutions with a variety of features such as barrier properties, professional printing and end-user functionalities like easy opening, pourability and microwaveability. Our production sites are BRC/IoP and ISO 9000:2000 certified. Product development and innovation are key priorities of Mondi Consumer Flexibles. In our newly opened research and development centre in Korneuburg, Austria, we create new solutions and strive to add value to existing products.

PRINTED LAMINATES AND BARRIER MATERIALS

We have vast experience in supplying highly efficient reel materials for all kinds of applications and FFS machines. We can also advise you about material combinations, to help you achieve the highest possible protection and make the optimal marketing choices.

High-quality printing with flexo, and a rotogravure technology, optimises the visual appearance of products. Solvent or solvent-free adhesives – depending on product and customer requirements – are used for laminates with up to five layers.

Special solutions – such as cold seal application, printing on both sides, and laminates for sterilisation and vacuum packaging – are also part of the standard product portfolio.

STAND-UP POUCHES

Mondi Consumer Flexibles' pre-made plastic / plastic and plastic / aluminium laminate stand-up pouches are perfect for many applications, including food, pet food, household liquids, and personal care and chemical products.

This convenient, user-friendly packaging solution is chemically and physically durable, and can be sterilised. Single-serve pouches offer convenient, yet healthy, food preparation.

A wealth of structural options – such as re-closable openings, spouts and laser perforations – combined with our printing capabilities, offer virtually unlimited possibilities for optimal brand presentations.

NEOSTEAM HIGH BARRIER FILM PACKAGING

NeoSteam packaging solutions feature a valve integrated into high barrier films and are suitable for frozen or refrigerated food in bags or trays. Just like a pressure cooker, the valve regulates the pressure inside the package, allowing healthy preparation that retains flavour and vitamins alike.

The NeoSteam steam valve reduces preparation time whilst enhancing product quality, and can be adapted to the individual steam-properties of the product to achieve the optimal cooking time. Products can therefore be prepared quickly whilst preserving healthy vitamins and minerals.

ACTIVE AND INTELLIGENT PACKAGING

Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) involves the modification of a package's head space gas to prolong the product's shelf life. It is used for fruits and vegetables, meat products, and seafood.

Ethylene scavengers are used in bags to absorb the ethylene emitted by fruit during the ripening process – thus prolonging the life of the fruit by preventing excessive ageing – and also retain the fruit's vitamin C.

It is often difficult for consumers to judge both whether products are the right temperature for consumption, and how fresh they are, but thermochrome prints and time temperature indicators instantly display product temperature.

RECLOSABLE BAGS

Hygienic and convenient CLICK & CLOSE and SLIDE & CLOSE bags feature a sophisticated sealing concept which allows easy opening and re-closing, yet keeps their contents fresh and protected.

Mondi Consumer Flexibles' new SINGLE LIP BAG offers customers convenience, whilst meeting marketers' demands for attractive presentation. The emptying area consists of only two layers, yet there are no impediments to the filling process, thanks to the 45° corner sealing on the bottom half of the bag.

This intelligent packaging system preserves nutrients and taste, while preventing unpleasant odour diffusion. From the manufacturer's perspective, the long shelf-life allows larger packaging units, thus increasing customer loyalty.

The bags can be flexo printed in up to eight colours, and rotogravure printed in up to ten colours. CLICK & CLOSE and SLIDE & CLOSE bags are available in paper and plastic and can hold between 500g and 25kg.

UNIQUE CODING PACKAGING MARKETING

Unique coding is an effective and attractive marketing tool that supports sales-boosting consumer promotions. Codes printed on the inside of the product packaging make it easy for customers to participate in promotions. Hidden codes can be safely printed with food-grade ink on foil wrappers.
