Innovia Films - Cellulose and Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene FilmsInnovia Films is a major producer of speciality cellulose and Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) films, with production sites in the UK, USA, Belgium and Australia. The company has 17 sales offices and a strong network of distributors and agents selling into over 110 countries. 1,400 employees worldwide help achieve turnover in excess of €400 million. Innovia Films holds a leading global position in the label and security film, high-performance coated packaging, tobacco overwrap and biodegradable / compostable and sustainable film markets. SPECIALITY-COATED BOPP FILMS Speciality-coated films include those for high-barrier, high-speed, anti-mist, peel and re-seal, shrink-tightening, printable and low-temperature sealing. We also produce coloured cellulose films; white, clear and metallised films; and fully biodegradable / compostable cellulose films which are manufactured from renewable resources. Brands include Propafilm, PropaFresh, Propaream, Cellophane, Rayoface, Rayoart, Rayoweb, Rayophane and NatureFlex. Research and development is at the heart of the business to ensure speed of delivery of new ideas and products. NATUREFLEX BIODEGRADABLE AND COMPOSTABLE FILMS The NatureFlex range of transparent, white and metallised biodegradable cellulose-based films is derived from renewable resources, certified to meet the European norm EN 13432, American ASTM D6400 and Australian AS4736 standards for compostable packaging. Ideal for packaging natural and organic products, these films offer natural and organic-product manufacturers the opportunity to align their packaging message with the spirit of their product marketing, by providing them with a biodegradable, naturally-based packaging material. NatureFlex NVS has been specifically developed for fresh food applications to provide improved dimensional stability under chill conditions.
NatureFlex NM is the only metallised biodegradable film suitable for home composting because the level of metal is so small – less than 0.02%. Modified coatings ensure excellent metal lay-down and adhesion, providing a very-high moisture barrier with a transmission rate of less than 10, under tropical conditions (30°C, 90% RH).
NatureFlex NVL is the first NatureFlex film for labels which has been developed for use in applications where the complete package construction needs to be certified as biodegradable. NatureFlex NVL film is stiffer and more oriented than many current biopolymers, making it ideal for labelling.
SHRINK-TIGHTENING OVERWRAP FILMS The Propafilm range of shrink-tightening films offers improved pack appearance and product security. These unique films tighten on to the pack, with or without a shrink tunnel, and may be printed using gravure, flexographic and litho print technologies.
NEW SHRINK NAKED COLLATION OVERWRAP FILM The trend towards naked collation of tobacco packs has inspired the development of Propafilm SRC, a shrink-tightening film that offers improved pack appearance and product security.
NEW HP INDIGO® PRINTABLE BOPP LABEL FACESTOCK FILMS Innovia Films has recently expanded its range of HP Indigo printable BOPP facestock films. Alongside the established white facestock film, Rayoface WDI, there are now two thicknesses of clear films: Rayoface CDI 51μm and 59μm. Recent certifications through the HP substrate compatibility centre in Maastricht have re-affirmed Innovia Films' HP Indigo range as ideal films for this market and give converters assurance of high performance on press.
